West TN New Farmer Academy

A 7 month certificate program starting April 26. Ideal candidates are new to Agriculture and want to make a living in this field. You will learn business plans, livestock production, pasture management, timber, vegetable and fruit crop production, equipment, marketing, and more!

Registration deadline is April 5. $175 fee which covers all 7 workshops (materials, lunches and snacks).  For more questions call 901-752-1207.

Project WET Water Workshop

This workshop is especially appropriate for teachers, but is open to everyone.Register at the link below. 

Since 1984, Project WET has been developing fun, hands-on, award-winning activities for teachers to use in the classroom and outdoors. This workshop includes the Project WET Curriculum and Activity Guide 2.0, which gives educators engaging tools for integrating water education into many subjects. We will sample a variety of these activities as well as learn about the Wolf River watershed, and local and global water issues.  In addition to a copy of the Project WET Curriculum and Activity Guide 2.0, participants will receive a signed certificate of attendance at the end of the day. Though this workshop is designed for local educators, it is open to anyone who is interested in attending!

When: March 29.  Luncheon, awards ceremony with Student Art Contest winners, and a panel presentation will be from 11am-1pm.  Exhibition in a drop-in format is from 1pm-3pm.

Who: Jim Jaggers, News Channel 3 meteorologist, will be the emcee for this event.
