Agricultural Crop Research

Agricenter International is a leader in agricultural field crop research. Through its work with agribusiness, University systems, and government and non-government organizations, Agricenter provides a professional forum for the unbiased development, evaluation, demonstration, education, and marketing of the latest and most advanced agricultural technologies and products.

These advances include biotech seeds, seed treatment chemistries, feasibility studies of new crop uses, farm equipment improvements, and methods for land, soil, and water conservation. Field research services are conducted in a range of crops, developing and helping develop new technologies, products and management practices to apply those technologies, and educating producers and consumers alike, of their benefits.

The strength of Agricenter lies in our ability to conduct applied field research & development and in our unique location in the heart of Shelby County, a place many consider the epicenter of southern row-crop agriculture.

Agricenter is the only facility in America of its size and scope where the agri-industry can come to see the newest and most effective products, equipment in an urban setting convenient to a large population and a large crop production region. Individuals come to Agricenter by car and by air, as the facility is conveniently located near numerous agribusinesses and crop producers and convenient to Memphis International Airport for our out-of-town guests.

Because of its competencies as a working farm, the Agricenter research department has the ability to plan and complete on-farm research trials with southern field crops, and the land and expertise available to expand research into new crops and new areas of research, like those currently being evaluated for use as Bioenergy crops. The Agricenter farm has uniform silt loam soils and irrigation capabilities ideal for most research plots. Agricenter research services range from turn-key protocols to performance evaluation trials, product demonstrations and almost anything in-between. Our work assures client confidentiality, quality research, and reliable data management.

In addition to actual crop research and testing, Agricenter also showcases new & coming technologies in the field during its bi-annual field technology days. A number of leading Agribusiness companies and organizations maintain facilities at Agricenter, including tenants Bayer Crop Science, Case IH Agriculture, Helena Chemical Company, the US Weather Service, University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service, and more. The list of other research and field day “Cooperators” also includes BASF Corporation, Cotton Incorporated, Dow AgroSciences, Monsanto, and Syngenta.
