Progressive Agriculture Safety Day for Urban Youth

This national program is offered at Agricenter International twice a year (one in the spring and one in the fall). This is a program for 4th and 5th graders with available space for two schools.

The students and teachers are presented with an official Safety Day T-shirt. The students learn about safety in agriculture and around their house.  They learn common sense safety pertaining to chemicals, animals, poison, grain cells, machinery, and how to call for emergency.  Students take the Look-A-Like challenge to see if they can identify the non-poisonous item. They also learn about bicycle safety and see a demonstration of why it is important to wear a helmet. The students enjoy lunch and at the conclusion of the program are presented with a goody bag to take home.

If your school is interested in attending please contact Tim Roberts at 757-7777 x7109 or e-mail at tim.roberts@utk.edu.
