MEMPHIS, TN --- Agricenter celebrated its 40th anniversary at the Feast on the Farm Gala on June 22, 2019.  Honorary Co-Chairs were Honorable Bill Morris, B. U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander, while Tennessee’s 45th Governor, was instrumental in creating the Agricenter.  He was honored to be invited to “celebrate what Memphis and Shelby County have that is unique.”  He said, “For over 40 years, Agricenter has invested in the Memphis community, and I know it will continue to bring people together, invest in agricultural education and research and successfully adapt to the changes in our new economy.”

John Butler, President of Agricenter International said, “This was an incredible event!  I love that we got a chance to reflect on the first 40 years and to thank the people who got Agricenter started.  We have a bright future ahead of us and I love the positive impact we are having on the Memphis-Shelby County Community.”

Over 500 guests, chefs, and volunteers attended the 5th annual gala and 100% of the funds raised go to support Agricenter International’s education program.  John Bryant served as emcee for the evening and guests were offered an array of tastings from 24 chefs and restaurants while bidding on unique silent auction items.  The spirited live auction led by Jeff Morris of Morris Realty & Auction captivated bidders with hunting trips, diamonds, and sporting adventures.  Entertainment at the after party by The Management Band rounded out the fun-filled evening.

All proceeds from the event support Agricenter International’s education program which educates over 10,000 students each year.  Christine Donhardt, Event Chair, said, “This gala was our largest fundraiser to date, providing critical funding for our extensive education programs.  We could not provide this level of education without the help of generous supporters!”
